Yaniel Martinez Pérez is a heartfelt Cuban vocalist who carries forward the rich, traditional legacy of Cuba’s great musicians while gracefully transcending that heritage into today’s music. His musical journey traces back to 1950s, Havana, Cuba, where he first graced the stage and began a lifelong path of artistry, soul, and expression. That journey later connected him with Gabe “88k” Carmona and the album Dinastía was born! - A collaboration that celebrated tradition, excellence, and cultural depth.

A very special project is now complete. It’s a single for a special Carmona musician to me, my Uncle, my Tio, Mr. Chris Carmona.
In my early musical years, along with my father, I played with my Uncle Chris on piano at a variety of shows. Sometimes, even being snuck in backstage since I was under age. Still, between my Uncle Chris, my father, and fellow CC keyboardist, Ruben Rodriguez, I was always able to perform and learn from such great musicians from an early age.
This project is near and dear to me, as I continue to pay homage to my Tio. I love and miss him and our musical talks so much.

Accolades to share about Chris: The Texas Music Museum honored Chris for his many years of music contributions to Tejano Music. From 1952 1956, Chris was a member of his father’s orquesta, along with his brothers Mac and Mike. In 1956, his father, Nemecio passed the band to Chris, who continued the band in Austin, TX for four years until he moved to California in 1960. This orchestra performed in Austin at the Avalon Club, the Sky Line Club, the Austin Coliseum, and throughout Texas. In 1962, he formed the Chris Carmona Orquesta that continued for 30 years until 1992. The orquesta was a favorite in Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Salt Lake City, and Reno, NV to name a few major cities. Chris and his orquesta opened for many major groups, such as Tito Fuentes and Tito Rodriguez. Chris’ group made over sixteen recordings, first with the CIMA label and later with the FAMA Record label.
Celebration: on June 28, 2008, the Texas Music Museum extended its gratitude to Chris Carmona for his exceptional contributions to Tejano Music and the great state of Texas.

As a pianist, composer, engineer, and producer, Gabe infuses his Latin music productions with authenticity, rhythm, and soul. Drawing inspiration from traditional sounds and blending them with contemporary influences, he creates vibrant, dynamic tracks that honor his roots while pushing the genre forward.
